The School Day
Below are the times of the usual school day:
- The school gates open for the children at 8:40am (8:30 for Nursery) and children go straight into their classrooms, ready for registration by 8:50am.
- There will be a member of staff on duty at both school gates to take any morning messages.
- Children arriving after 8:50am will need to be taken to the school office to be signed in by a parent/carer.
- We will require a reason for the lateness as DfE recordkeeping requires us to record how many minutes late children are after the official start time of 8:50 am.
- Morning break is 10:45am – 11:00. We have dedicated Early Years, KS1 and KS2 play spaces.
- At lunchtime the children take turns eating as a key stage in the hall and then play on their relevant playgrounds.

| Year 4, 5 & 6 | To enter through the school main gates and turn left to go through the brown gate. Line up by class on the playground to go in on the bell, lead by teacher. |
All children will be ready to be collected at the end of the school day at 3:20pm, collection will follow the same basis as dropping off in the morning.
Teachers will be available at the end of the day for you to talk to but will not be available in the mornings as they will be in class. Early morning learning tasks will begin at 8:40 am in the classrooms for children. This is an ideal time for teachers to support reading, times tables practice and give out fluency tasks, so please do aim to arrive at 8.40 am.
Absence from school
We greatly appreciate parental support in ensuring attendance remains high at our school. Parents are requested to inform the school of the reason for a child’s absence as soon as possible by telephone. If no message regarding the reason for absence has been received, then we will try to make contact with the parents to find out the reason for the absence as close to the close of registers as possible.
Please note Leave of Absence including holiday and extended leave cannot be granted unless there are exceptional circumstances. Please contact the school office for further information and a request form.
Punctuality
The school day begins at 8.50am – with access from 08:40. Children arriving after the class gates have closed should enter school via the office, accompanied by a parent or carer. This adult will need to complete the late record, including reason for lateness. Where a child is persistently late the Head Teacher will ask to meet with parents/carers.
